Fausto's Family Restaurant
About This Spot
Fausto's Family Restaurant invites you into a warm, unpretentious setting where the slow rhythm of Southern hospitality fills the air. Located on the easy stretch of US-165 in Kinder, Louisiana, this cozy local eatery feels like a welcome pause from the road, where families, friends, and travelers alike gather around sturdy tables to share hearty, soul-soothing meals.
From the moment you step inside, you notice how much care goes into making guests feel at home. The atmosphere hums with easy conversation and the gentle clatter of plates, while walls reveal a charming trophy room that quietly nods to the pride and history behind this humble institution. It’s the kind of place where servers greet you with genuine smiles, and the mood is relaxed but lively in that familiar, lived-in way only a true neighborhood favorite can achieve.
Cuisine here is a true reflection of the bayou’s rich flavors—comforting seafood dishes and Southern classics prepared with reverence and generosity. Whether it’s the crispy fried shrimp that beckon with their golden crunch, the homestyle gumbo simmering with layered spices, or the iconic po’boys piled high and wrapped in fresh bread, each bite offers a little discovery of Louisiana’s culinary soul. Portions are generous and thoughtfully plated, inviting both newcomers and locals to savor a meal that feels both special and accessible.
What lingers beyond the food is the unspoken feeling of belonging; a place where stories are shared over a basket of onion rings or a plate of chicken fried steak, where kindness is part of the seasoning, and where the bustle of the outside world softens into something more personal and enduring.
For those passing through or settling in for an evening, Fausto's stands as a gentle reminder that great food is as much about the company and place as it is the recipe—an honest, comfortable experience crafted around family and local spirit.

The food was amazing, I was quite impressed!! I would definitely recommend eating here, the prices are a little bit high, but for the quality of food, and the amount of food you get, it's worth it!!! I will definitely be back!!!

What a delight!! We were looking for something local & came across this gem. Our family had the fried oysters, fish po’boy & chicken fried steak. Everything was delicious. Employees were friendly, even bought some of their seasoning to go. Loved the trophy room. Would highly recommend to anyone passing through. Family friendly!!

Driving Back to Texas from the casino & we stopped at this place. Oh my so glad we did! The catfish AMAZING. I got the fish po’ boy & it’s huge! My mom got the seafood platter and her Cajun rice was just delicious! Definitely worth the stop. Workers are also EXTREMELY kind!

I love this place! I usually order the Hamburger Steak and Mashed potatoes. It comes with brown gravy, optional mushrooms and onions, your choice of a side and a pistolette. Delicious. Apologies as I was not able to get photos.

Our first time visiting Kinder and we decided on Fausto's for dinner. The burger was HUGE and their fried chicken definitely did not disappoint—some of the best fried chicken I've had in my life! It was so crispy and fresh and seasoned to perfection! Although we didn't order the onion rings, we decided that we would get them on our next visit because they looked DELICIOUS! We met the owner who spent some time walking around the restaurant greeting customers. He greeted us warmly and shared his story about inheriting the business. He mentioned that the restaurant has been family owned since 1989. We could tell by the smile on his face that he takes great pride in the establishment! The wait staff was very friendly and actively tended to customers the entire time we were there. Everyone who worked their greeted us and would ask if we needed anything. The atmosphere was charming and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I would HIGHLY recommend eating here if you are in town! Excellent food and fantastic service! We will be back!
